Bus Routes

Bus routes are created by First Student using software that creates bus stop locations and estimated ride times to help ensure efficiency. They use data such as student addresses and school addresses to determine routes and bus stops.

The times you’re given for your child to be picked up at the bus in the morning and dropped off in the afternoon are approximate times. Because there are many factors that aren’t within the driver’s control, such as slow traffic, accidents, construction or weather, we encourage families to arrive at the bus stop at least five minutes early in the morning and in the afternoon. Buses can sometimes be slightly ahead of schedule or slightly behind schedule. Again, we encourage you and your student to get to the bus stop early so you won’t miss the bus to get to school, and so you won’t miss meeting your child at the bus stop after school.

Bus routes are subject to change as the school year progresses. This is to ensure we maintain a high level of efficiency. If a route change occurs for your student, you will be notified in writing.

First Student will adjust stops as needed for safety. Routing software can’t anticipate construction or other reasons that might make a bus stop unsafe. First Student drivers report these kinds of concerns to supervisors for adjustments to be made. Confluence also reviews bus routes and will share its concerns to First Student for adjustments. If you have a concern about your child’s bus route, you can speak to the transportation specialist at your school, or you can speak to the Transportation and Facilities Coordinator at the Confluence Academies Resource Office.
