Q-and-A Possible Merger of LEAs

Confluence Academy, Inc. is a non-profit organization operated by a volunteer board of directors. Confluence operates two local education agencies (LEAs) - Confluence Charter Schools and Grand Center Arts Academy.

The LEAs have separate charters and separate sponsors. Confluence is sponsored by University of Missouri-Columbia, while GCAA is sponsored by Saint Louis University.

The Board of Directors is exploring options for the continued operation of GCAA without the current financial issues that exist because of the separate LEA status. While a technical merger of the LEAs has been discussed by the Board for at least a year, no decision has been made by the Board. And if approved, no such merger will take place for quite some time in the future.
