The Confluence Academies administrative team has taken a proactive and data-informed approach to the COVID-19 pandemic. Proactive health and safety protocols have been in place since July 2020, and we monitor the health and wellbeing of all staff and students who enter our buildings. In addition, our Resource Office staff stays in close communication with the St. Louis City Department of Health as well as the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. For more information on how the State of Missouri is responding to the Covid-19 pandemic please go to: Show Me Strong Missouri. We will continue to monitor local data and adjust our approach as necessary.
Health and Safety Guidelines
Information regarding many of the Network's policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of all who enter our buildings may be found here: School Reopening FAQ. In addition, Confluence Academies received quick response Antigen Tests last semester, increasing the ability to gather information quickly and ensure the safety of staff and students.
Data on Impact of COVID-19 on Staff and Students
If a student or staff member reports symptoms of the COVID-19 virus, shares a positive test result, or communicates close proximity to an individual with a positive test, they are required to quarantine away from school for a period of time determined by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and local health department guidelines. There are 3 categories of isolation or quarantine:
- Staff or students who share a positive test result
- Staff or students who exhibit symptoms of COVID-19
- Staff or students who are in close proximity to an individual who has to isolate or quarantine
Confluence employees monitor data on an ongoing basis. At the bottom of this page are 2 documents; one tracks student data, the other tracks employee data. Employee data reflects reporting as of July 1, 2020. Student data reflects in-person learning starting October 26, 2020. Students in grades PreK-5 had the option for in-person learning beginning 10/26/2020. Students in grades 6-12 had the option of in-person learning beginning 1/19/2021. This data will be updated monthly to provide an ongoing picture of the impact of COVID-19 on Confluence Academies.
