GCAA Staff Communications

In early September 2015, teachers and staff at Grand Center Arts Academy, a Confluence Charter School, publicly expressed interest in joining the American Federation of Teachers union.

 

Confluence recognizes the rights of teachers to organize and will work with employees in accordance with the laws. The foremost priority is the best interest of students and the learning environment - and teachers are a strong part of the educational environment. 

 

We also recognize that our teachers and staff can decide against organizing.

 

Confluence is cooperating with GCAA and representatives from AFT on a formal process for employees to make a decision through an election. The outcome will affect everyone who is part of the proposed bargaining groups. 

 

Confluence encourages all employees to become knowledgeable about the issues and facts to make an informed, responsible vote.
